Vintage 2017 was cool and late by recent standards, but we picked late April which is the long-term normal time for Cabernet Sauvignon. This year’s blend is 99% Cabernet Sauvignon with 1% Petit Verdot. Matured in 38% new tight grained French oak for 17 months prior to bottling in December 2018.
Deep, dark purple red, the nose is dense with pure aromatics of cassis and blackberry with a touch of licorice and fine integrated coffee from the oak. The palate is rich with great depth of cassis blackberry fruit and fine grainy tannins. This wine will reward careful cellaring and we recommend decanting before drinking.
